Came here as a once off and all I have to say is how disgusted I am with how the manager treats the staff, a male manager that was on the bar floor was giving constant grief to a clearly new member of staff. Will definitely not be going there again

The individual staff were really good and tried their best but there were just too few of them and they weren't adequately trained to do their jobs. Also, the food was mediocre and the food ordering app is extremely poor.

We visited Yorkshire Rose because we were going to the major concert on at the stadium nearby. Our experience was fine and normal until it got busy with concert goers. The bar staff were run off their feet and the wait time at the bar was over half an hour. It was difficult for the staff to memorize who was next to be served and people were getting agitated with others getting served before people who felt they had been waiting longer.
There weren't enough glasses for the drinks - empty glasses were piled up around the pub with no staff to clear them and wash them. This was actually taking away table and drinking space too from an already overcrowded pub.
We resorted to using the app after waiting half an hour at the bar to no avail. After an hour our drinks still hadn't been brought to us. We went to the bar to cancel the order and ask for our money back. There was a MASSIVE pile of receipts of orders from the app and the staff said there was no-one processing them. You could see more order tickets coming out of the machine and they were just being placed in a pile. Why not put the App on hold instead of taking people's money when it was very obvious that there was no way that you were actually going to deliver what you had charged people for? We got our money back and left but I know of people who didn't think to ask for money back. You must have made so much money out of this rip off.
This same debacle happened last year at the other major concert at the nearby stadium.
Why haven't you learnt from that and employed more staff this time? You can easily draft in staff from other Marstons pubs for the day. This was a Tuesday. Other of your pubs away from the stadium won't have been busy in the afternoon so it would be straight forward paying taxis for other staff to come and work at the Yorkshire Rose for the day. You had known about this event for a very long time.
4 stars given for service because the staff were fine. It wasn't their fault they were so busy. They were working very hard. For service policy it's zero stars.
Next year we will not be visiting your venue before the concert and will also tell our friends not to. we will go into the town centre instead.

Great pub that welcomes home and away fans with no problems. Home crowd welcomed all posh fans and this was a great spot to grab a drink and some beer before a shortish walk to the ground with my lad.

Recently came for a meal with my friends who had special needs, and the service was absolutely fantastic.
Andrew severed us and looked after us and he was first class. What a truly wonderful young man.

We came to the Yorkshire Rose on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Friendly welcome, easy to choose and order our meals, fast and friendly service, and the food was lovely. Will definitely eat here again.

Fabulous place to eat and the staff are so welcoming and accommodating as we have a child with special needs. We visit at least once a month if we can!

Called in today never been before order pizza on a deal £12.50 and a drink, there is hidden charge of a £1 on each meal,didn't see it so the meal deal was only 49p less then the full menu price .we were charge for drink on top of that a small wine and larger which did say are included in the deal .so a quick meal out came to a lot more then the price you see on the menu. So that's the bad bit .the good bit was the food was lovely and will go again but look closer at the menu as some I looked at when ready to leave and an extra 1.50 on the price you see .so avoid the deals .thanks for the reply we came in about 12.30 .pizza deal was 12.50 but when you look in the print under the pizza deal there is a service charge of a pound on each pizza. A small white wine that was in the deal and lager ended up been over £40 pound how we ordered nothing else .yet you say that it's only on certain steaks clearly not .you by law should make people aware of a service charge before they order has it up to the individual if they agree to it .yet we were not informed of the charges on top till we got the bill .and remove the meal deals has they are clearly not a deal.
